How many times does mommy have to come in to put Hayden back down to sleep. A few weeks ago she learned to crawl, and just in the past 24 hours she went to pulling herself up to standing.

Today was a great day to be outside. It’s been so cold the past few weeks that the only time spent outside was to and from the vehicles. I am thankful for the break from the cold spell and welcome the warmth.

I woke up this morning with a brilliant thought. There has got to be a wordpress application that I could download to my phone to make blogging a little easier. (the
Internet at my parents house is horrible and it takes forever to upload anything) and sure enough there was such an app. So now for those of you who are not on Facebook and don’t get to see the many many pictures I post of beautiful Hayden, you can now have a chance.

Hayden loves to play on the stairs. Thankfully her little legs are to short for her to actually be able to climb otherwise I would be in big trouble.

back up a few months

Just a little review of Hayden at 5 and 6 months. At her 6 month (which was a few days before she turned 7 months) she was 13 lbs 6 oz and 24 inches long, still wearing 0-3 month clothes (which is nice since we are getting our moneys worth) and is still one of the happiest babies I’ve ever known. She’s a little inchworm making her way to wherever she wants, likes to feed herself and still hates taking naps. I love her to bits and am honored to be her mommy.

Today was a day. The kind of day that just makes me laugh. The simple things turn complicated, yet the complicated things seem simple. Mine started out with a very hyper puppy and a mischievous cat pestering each other in a way that I just knew there wasn’t going to be any sleeping in for me. I headed upstairs for some coffee, which was so nicely already prepared and ready to go. But, (yes but and coffee are always a bad sign) it was the worse cup of coffee I have ever tasted! It was probably due to the fact that the coffee pot broke yesterday, so it was made in with a percolator. Even my dad didn’t like it and that says something right there. Next my parents headed to town, which it was very nice to have the house to myself. The pets were sleeping from all the running around (in the house I might add), and Hayden was playing very nice and quietly (which never happens these days) and I was sitting at the computer entering data into charts (oh so fun). I took a little washroom break, and in my return I found Sammy sitting on the keys of the computer! Well somehow he managed to turn my excel document into an email, deleted my nicely formed tables and added his own cat language to the report. And (yes there is an and) guess who forgot to save? Yup me. The past few hours of work I had just done was gone. All gone. Well after that little incident I decided it was a lunch break time. My parents returned home, and after lunch we ventured out into the deep snow but a beautiful day to go skiing, which went smoothly besides my shoulders being sore from carrying Hayden and leaning over a computer. After skiing, my dad and I decided to go for a quad ride, which turned into quiet an adventure. We managed to make it onto the trail we take but then, with all the drifted snow we decided to turn around so we wouldn’t get stuck. Well that didn’t happen, we ended up getting stuck. The snow was over my knees as we trenched up the hill to find a tree to hook the winch to. Thankfully the winch pulled up out, but a poor tree suffered in the process. But even after all the adventures of the day I can still smile because I have the cutest little girl who is always smiling.

Today was the first time I have been away from Hayden since she has graced us with her presence. Yes she is 4.5 months old, and I do realize that most people have already left their babies by this age, but not me. I love being with her. I love hearing her talk and giggle. I love watching her try to do new things and her face is amazing to watch when she sees something for the first time. I love watching her smile at the pets, or another person when they greet her. I love her little pouty face, and even hearing her cry makes me sad but I love it at the same time. But today I had music practice, and there was an offer for someone other than myself to watch her and I took it. I was away from her for a little over three hours and every second of it I thought about her. It made me grateful to know that even though I can’t be with her every second of her life that God will be. Knowing that He will never leave her side is a comforting thought.

a little treat.. that went bad

So my dad decided that he was going to give Chloe (my dog) a little treat, and gave her some raw deer meat. Chloe of course loved it.. then. Now, I would hope that she would think twice about eating it, or my dad would learn his lesson that one shouldn’t give a dog raw meat. Let me tell you a little about what happened.

Chloe had the worse gas ever. You know the kind that makes you want to gag. The kind that lingers in the room, and stays in the blankets for days. Yeah, that’s the kind she had. So candles lit and off to bed we all went. The rest of the night goes something like this: Just fall asleep. Dog has to go out. Let dog out, and then back in. Crawl in bed. Baby wakes up. Get baby back to sleep. Crawl in bed. Dog wants out. Let dog out and then back in. Crawl into bed. Baby wakes up. Get baby back to sleep. Dog wants out. Let dog out but wasn’t careful and cat went out to. Chase cat in snow, in Canada, in December, with no socks or shoes on. Finally get cat back inside. Let dog inside. Crawl into bed. Mom gets up to go to the bathroom. Baby wakes up. Get baby back to sleep. Crawl in bed. Dog needs out. Let dog out, careful to watch for the cat. Crawl back into bed. Cat decides my hair is a toy. Finally fall back asleep. Heard a loud noise outside. Mom lets dog back in. Dog jumps in bed and hides under covers. I pull covers up. Chloe’s gas made me gag. Get up to get a drink. Dog needs out. Anyway you get the picture. All. Night. Long. And it continues through the next few days. I think she is finally get back to normal, but she still has really bad gas and its been three days!

a little break from packing

Hayden and I took a little trip up to Michigan, thanks to my cousin, to surprise a friend. We had a blast. Hayden loves flying and airports and people, oh my does she love people. It was a short but sweet visit, and now we are home to the wonderland of bins, boxes, suitcases and much much more!
